Govt decides to set up 16 corporations for various communities in Telangana

Hyderabad, March 12( Zahid Hussain -PMI): The State government has decided to constitute 16 separate corporations for various communities in Telangana.

            The State Cabinet,  which was chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at the Secretariat here on Tuesday, took some key decisions on various subjects.

            Disclosing the Cabinet decisions to the media here, BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar along with Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy,  Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and D Sridhar Babu said that the State government would set up separate corporations for 16 castes, including Mudiraj, Yadava, Kuruma, Lingayat, Padmashali, Peraka and Balija, Reddy, Vaishya, Madiga, Madiga sub-castes and Mala community sub-castes.

            “The Cabinet has also decided to take special measures for the safety of toddy workers,” Ponnam said.

            Minister for Housing Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the Cabinet has also decided to distribute 4,50,000 Indiramma houses at a cost of Rs.22,500 crores, in which 3,500 houses are alloted to each Assembly Constituency in Telangana.

            The Cabinet has decided to allocate 30 acres of land around Outer Ring Road ( ORR) for the promotion of goods made by women self groups. Similarly, it has also been decided to constitute a committee headed by Justice Pinakini Chandra Ghosh to investigate irregularities into the irrigation projects constructed during the previous government, Srinivas Reddy disclosed.

            “The Committee will submit its report in 100 days,” the Minister said.

            He also informed that the Cabinet has decided to issue white ration cards for all eligible people and to clear the Rythu Bandhu dues upto 93 percent within three days.

            Minister D Sridhar Babu stated that the State Cabinet has decided to give a minimum pay scale to 2008 DSC candidates and provide jobs to them.

            “A decision has also been taken to ensure that there is no problem for drinking water in the summer. Similarly, the decision was also taken to design a special programme with 15 items for women empowerment,” Sridhar Babu disclosed.

            Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy informed that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Ministers are working together as a team  for the development of Telangana and reiterated that all promises made during the election campaign would be implemented. (PMI)
