CM launches Travel Safe (T-Safe) service by Women Safety Wing

Hyderabad, March 12 (PMI)Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today launched the Travel Safe (T-Safe) service and dedicated the same to the citizens of Telangana, especially women travelling alone. It is the first of its kind ride monitoring service by Police in the country, which aims at making Travel safer for Women, Children and other vulnerable groups in the State. Launched on the day, the government announced the Mahila Shakthi Policy, the T-Safe will act as a key enabler towards Women empowerment.

The service can be accessed simply by dialing 100 or 112 and choosing the newly introduced number “8” in IVR option. Upon dialing, the citizen is also sent an automated link using which the service can also be availed via the Travel Safe Application available in Google Playstore or the T-Safe web page. While using the service, citizens will get automated alerts on app or by call at periodic intervals, which, if not responded to in the prescribed manner, will initiate prompt police response.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM stated that T-Safe is not an APP but a service. It does not require a smart phone or an app download to avail the service. Hence, even if the woman has a basic phone, she can avail the T-Safe service by simply dialing 100 and choosing option 8 in the IVR to initiate ride monitoring by the T-Safe team.

As part of future development, the Women Safety Wing announced that they will be integrating T-Safe with other application of cab aggregators and other private transport services. He congratulated the Telangana Police for continuously working towards making the State safer for women and children.

The launch event was also attended by ministers Damodara Raja Narsimha, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Konda Surekha, D. Anasuya Seethakka, Tummala Nageshwara Rao, Jupally Krishna Rao, Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari, IAS, DGP Ravi Gupta, IPS, Jitender, Principal Secretary to Home Department, and. Shikha Goel, IPS, Addl. Director General of Police, CID, in-charge Women Safety Wing. Other senior Police Officers including the Commissioners of Police of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Rachakonda, ADG- Intelligence, ADG-Training, ADG-Law & Order,  IG Multi Zone- I & II, IG-P&L, DIG-Women Safety Wing, Secretary to CM, DIG-ISW, Secretary to Govt and Commissioner to WD&CW Dept also attended the Launch event.
