CM Revanth summoned by Delhi police over Amit Shah’s doctored video

Hyderabad, April 29 (PMI): Delhi police has asked Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to join the probe on May 1 in connection with Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s doctored video which is being circulated on social media platforms.

Revanth Reddy was summoned to appear before Delhi Police IFSO’s Cyber Crime Unit. According to the sources, the Chief Minister has been asked to appear with his mobile phone allegedly used for posting the fake video on X.

A Delhi police team already reached Telangana to serve the notice to individuals who tweeted this fake video.

Sources said that five more people, including some Congress leaders, who shared the doctored videos will also be summoned by Delhi Police.

A video of Amit Shah saying that he will cancel ST, SC and OBC reservations if BJP comes back to power is doing the rounds on social media.

However, after the BJP and Union Home Ministry complained that it was a fake video, the police registered a case under Section 153, 153A, 465, 469, 171G of the IPC and Section 66C of the Information Technology (IT) Act.

As cases have been registered in many States across the country, the police have started an investigation. The police have also sent notices to X and Facebook seeking information on the accounts that uploaded and shared the video. (PMI)
