Sikhs celebrate Guru Nanak’s Prakash Utsav November 4 to  8

  Hyderabad, Nov.2 (Press media of india): The most important and major festival of Sikh Community across the  world “Sri Guru Nanak Devji”  birthday celebrations (Prakash  Utsav)”, the first Sikh Guru and founder of Sikh Religion will be celebrated on November 4 to  8.

To mark the important 553rd birth celebrations of Guru Nanak Devji, Prabhandak Committees of Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Guru Nanak Marg, Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunj and Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad have joined hands to make the celebrations a grand success. In this context,  two grand colourful, “Nagar Keertans ” (Holy processions) will be taken out by Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad at 4 pm on November 4 (Friday) and another from Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Guru Nanak Marg, Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunj at 4 pm on November 5. On the day of `’Prakash  utsav celebrations’’  which falls on November 8, “Vishaal  Deewan” (mass congregation) will be held  at Exhibition Grounds, Nampally from 10.30 am to 4 pm on November 8.

Nagar keertan from Secunderabad on Nov. 4

Prabhandak Committee presidents S Baldev Singh Bagga (GSS), S Kuldip Singh Bagga (GSGSS) and general secretaries and  other committee members said a colourful ‘’Nagar Keertan’’ will be taken out on November 4 at 4 pm from Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad and proceed via Manohar talkies, Clock Tower, BATA, Patny Circle, Kingsway, Monda Market, Alpha Hotel and reach Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad in the evening.

Thousands of devotees from across the State will take part in the procession. The Holy procession will be marked by rendering of Shabad Keertans  (Holy Hymns) by the Jatha Tera Jatha, Istri Satsang and Keerthani Jathas of men and women. Besides that “Panj Pyaras” (five beloved ones) in their traditional attire will be the cynosure of  atttraction in the procession.

Another colourful “Nagar keertan” will be taken out on November 5 at 4 pm from Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj and will pass through Afzalgunj, Siddiambar Bazar, Jambagh, Putli Bowli, Central Gurudwara Saheb Gowliguda and reach Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Afzalgung  in the evening at around 9 pm. Thousands of Sikh devotees and other community faiths from across the state will take part in the procession. Guru Granth Sahebji (the Revered Holy Scripture of the Sikhs) will be carried on a beautifully decorated vehicle along with “Nishaan Sahebans” (Religious Flags) all along the procession. The Holy  Procession will be marked by rendering of Shabad Keertans  (Holy Hymns) by the Jatha Tera Jatha, Isitri Satsang and Keerthani Jathas of men and women. Besides that “Panj Pyaras” (five beloved ones) in their traditional attire will be the cynosure of attraction in the procession. Major attraction of the procession will be the display of “Gatka” a  famous Sikh martial art forms and other breathtaking sword exercises all along  procession by Gatka Part Akal Gatka (Amritsar), Dashmesh Kalgidhar Jatha and other special Gatka parties will also exhibit their Gatka skills.

Vishaal deewan  on ”prakash utsav” on Nov. 8 at Exhibition  grounds, Nampally

       As the main 553rd Birthday Celebrations of Guru Nanak Devji falls on November 8, 2022 a ‘`vishaal deewan”  will be held at Exhibition Grounds, Nampally Road from 10.30 am to 4 pm on November 8, where over 25,000 to 30,000 Sikh devotees and other community faiths will converge at the event. The event will be marked by recitations of Gurbani Keertans (Holy Hymns) by the reputed Ragi Jathas (religious preachers) who are being specially invited from various parts of the country to render shabad keertans.

Bhai Satnam Singh Singhji (Sri Darbar Sahib, Golden Temple Amritsar), Bhai Sarabjeet SInghji of Patna, Bihar, Hazuri Ragi Jathas, Bhai Hari SInghji, Bhai Charanjeet Singhji, Bhai Jagdev Singhji, Bhai Harwinder Singh and other reputed Ragi Jathas will recite Shabad Keertans and Kathas and  throw light on the teachings of Guru Nanak who stood for peace, equality and humanity. After the culmination of the congregation  Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) will be served  to the devotees.

Two night keertan darbars on Nov. 7 and 8

A Night Keertan Darbar will be organised on November 7 (Monday) at Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad  from 7.30 pm to 10.30 pm. Another Night Keertan Darbar will be organised at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj on November 8 from 9 pm to 2 am in which above famous Ragi Jathas will recite Gurubani  keertans.
