Schools reopen for new academic

Hyderabad, June 13 (PMI): After around a two-month long summer vacation, all the schools under the management of government and private were reopened on Monday for the fresh academic year 2022-23 .

Minister for Education P Sabitha Indra Reddy visited a Government Girls High School, Mahabubia, in the city and greeted students by offering chocolates. A total of 41,392 schools, including private were reopened across the Telangana State.

Speaking on the occasion, Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy said that all government schools are being refurbished and rebuilt under the Mana Ooru Mana Badi programme and facilities are being upgraded in all the schools.

She also thanked Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for taking an initiative of introducing English medium of instruction from Class 1 to 8 in all the schools from this academic year and said that a total of 1.04 lakh government teachers have been trained in collaboration with Azim Premji University.

The Minister said the government is providing textbooks in bilingual i.e., English and Telugu from this academic year too and asked the students to avail the facilities. (PMI)
