Dy CM Slams Utham on Rythu Bandhu jibe

Hyderabad,  Accusing the Congress party of indulging in false propaganda against the State government on Rythu Bandhu scheme, Deputy Chief Minister Mohd Mahamood Ali in-charge of Revenue, today turned down allegations of the former as baseless.

Addressing the media at Secretariat here, the Deputy Chief Minister slammed the TPCC president N Utham Kumar Reddy for being jealous at the cheques’ distribution program as it fetches name and fame to the TRS government. “Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will launch the program in Karimnagar on May 10. Every arrangement has been made and the officials were sparing no efforts for successful distribution of the cheques and pattadar passbooks. Tenant farmers, Wakf lands and Endowment lands will get cheques and pattadar pass books in the second phase”, he disclosed.

Mahmood Ali lashed out at the Congress leaders for making hue and cry on the baseless charges of corruption. Ali also turned out the allegation as aimed at gaining political mileage. “We have spent Rs 90 crore for printing pattadar pass books, but there was no question of corruption of Rs 80 crore in printing them. The contract of printing works of Pattadar Pass Books was given to eight national level companies in an open bidding of tenders”, he said and informed that the number of total cheques and pattadar pass books was put at 58.06 lakh for 140.20 crore acres of land.

The Deputy Chief Minister also said they got printed 56.14 lakh cheques for distribution which amounts to Rs 5,392.29 crore against the land of 134.81 crore acres for distribution from May 10 to 17. He also said the officials will be given another two or three days for distribution if sevens were not sufficient. Remaining 1.92 lakh cheques for Rs. 215.80 crore on an extent of 5.39 lakh acres will be distributed on May 9,  he added.
