Harish keeps his promise, visits Gun Park with resignation letter

Hyderabad, April 26 (PMI)Former minister and Siddipet MLA Harish Rao today kept his promise and reached the Gun Park with his resignation letter for the implementation of 13 promises made by the Congress party .”If the Congress government implements the farm loan waiver and six guarantees by August 15, I will resign as MLA. I will not contest the by-election if the promises were implemented,” he said.

He made it clear that the interests of the poor were more important to him than politics. He demanded a pension of Rs 4,000 for his eligible Asara pensioners, Rs 500 as bonus for paddy and maize and Rs 15,000 for Rythu bandhu. “These are not the new demands that we are asking for,” he said while adding that the Congress leaders themselves had written the bond papers. He said they would be implemented within 100 days.

“Sonia Gandhi has written to the people of the state that it is our responsibility to implement the six guarantees within 100 days. She should apologise for breaking her promise to sign the first loan waiver on December 9. I will be happy if the promises are implemented by August 15. It is more important for me to get Rs. 4,000 Aasara pension, Rs. 4,000 unemployment allowance, Rs 2,500 to women and Rs. 2 lakh farm loan waiver. Even if I am not in office for five years, what can be happier if the people of the State are benefited,” Harish Rao said.

He said he was ready to give his resignation letter in the Speaker’s format also and added that he was handing over his resignation letter in the hands of journalists, who are Telangana activists. “If the Congress promises are true, if Revanth doesn’t want to come to the Gun park, he could send his resignation letter through his PA, if not through the staff. He may not like to put flowers at the martyrs memorial. I want Revanth to keep his promises to the people. I would like you to implement your six guarantees and 13 promises . I am leaving the resignation letter in the hands of journalists. If Revanth’s assurances are implemented, they will give my letter to the Speaker. Whether he gives or not, I leave it to his wisdom. If Revanth does not give his resignation letter, it will be assumed that he is cheating people again in the name of gods,” Harish Rao said. (PMI)
