CM  Revanth Reddy vows to waive crop loans by August 15, asks Harish Rao to keep resignation letter ready

HYDERABAD’26 April 2024: Accepting the challenge given by BRS leader T Harish Rao, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that the Congress Government would waive crop loans of up to Rs 2 lakh by August 15 and asked the Siddipet MLA to keep his resignation letter ready in the correct Speaker’s format to meet the challenge. Responding to Harish Rao’s visit to Gun Park on Friday to submit a resignation letter as part of a challenge he gave to Revanth Reddy over crop loan waiver and fulfillment of other promises made by the Congress party, the Chief Minister accused Harish Rao of misleading people by submitting a resignation letter in an incorrect format. Revanth Reddy stated that if Harish Rao was serious about his challenge, he should submit his resignation in the proper format. He emphasised that the Congress Government would fulfill its promise to waive off crop loans by August 15 without fail and said Harish Rao should keep his resignation letter ready.

Revanth Reddy made his remarks on Friday while interacting with his social media team at his residence in Jubilee Hills. CM Revanth highlighted the social media team’s crucial role in the Congress’s success in the recent assembly elections. He remarked that Congress defeated the BRS in what he called the “semi-final,” referring to the assembly elections and that the “final” battle would be against the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In a light-hearted analogy, he compared the political campaign to a Twenty20 cricket match, emphasising the importance of hitting every ball.

Revanth Reddy urged the Congress social media team to remain vigilant and actively refute false information as it emerged. He expressed confidence that the Congress could secure at least 14 of Telangana’s 17 Lok Sabha seats. During his address, Revanth Reddy criticised the BJP’s use of religion for political gains, emphasising that God should remain in the temple and devotion in people’s hearts, not used as a political tool. He drew a parallel between the British East India Company’s colonial tactics and the BJP’s expansion strategy, suggesting that the BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, aimed to capture the country through divisive policies.

He alleged that the BJP wanted to win more than 400 seats and secure a two-thirds majority so that it could change the Indian Constitution and remove the reservation policy for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. He warned that if the BJP gained a two-thirds majority, it could lead to significant changes in the Constitution, underscoring the need to prevent the BJP from attaining that level of power. Revanth Reddy asked the Congress party’s social media team members to stay focused and committed to their efforts. He expressed optimism that, with a solid social media presence, the Congress could win not just 14 but potentially 16 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana.
