Bandi condemns party leaders’ house arrest

Hyderabad, Feb.11 (PMI): State BJP president Bandi Sanjay kumar today condemned the house arrest of several party leaders in Jangaon district by keeping in view of CM KCR’s visit. He wondered if the opposition leaders and workers should be scared of the CM whenever he comes out of his farm house to undertake any official visit.

In a statement, he asked the state police as to why they are arresting their party leaders ahead of the CM’a visit to different districts. He alleged that the police had been harassing their party leaders and workers by keeping them in different police stations of Jangaon. He said that the people of the state used to feel happy whenever the CM of the state would plan to  visit their area  as it would solve their problems and added that the people of the state were scared of the visits of CM KCR.

The state BJP president condemned the house-arrests of BJP floor leader Raja Singh, MLAs Eatala Rajender and Raghunandan Rao, who were detained while going to visit the houses of activists injured in attack by TRS goons. He called it unconstitutional.

He said in the past, the police had a good name throughout the country. But in Telangana, after KCR came to power, the reputation of the police was completely spoiled. Some police officials are behaving like the TRS activists and some of them stooped down so low that they are even carrying TRS flags to their police jeeps.

“There is no question of the BJP leaders getting cowed down by these illegal arrests and attacks. KCR should remember that the BJP leaders had braved the attacks of the Maoists,” he said.

Sanjay Kumar demanded that all the arrested BJP workers be released unconditionally and action be taken against those assaulted them. “Otherwise, the government and the police would be held responsible for the repercussions,” he warned. (PMI)
