Vivek “swallowed” several crore rupees: TCA

Hyderabad,  Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) today accused Hyderabad Cricket Association president G Vivek of looting crores of rupees in the name of organizing cricket tournaments in the districts.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, TCA president Y Laxminarayana and general secretary Guruva Reddy alleged that Vivek, who didn’t know ABCDs of cricket, had become president of HCA with the help of politics. They said, “Vivek looted crores of rupees in the name of cricket tournaments in districts though he didn’t conduct any tournament. Vivek diverted Rs 2 crore in the last two years”, they alleged. Alleging that Vivek did not follow the rules in suspending HCA secretary Shesh Narayan, the TCA president asked whether Vivek took permission of HCA general body with regard to conducting trophy in the name of his father late G Venkatswamy. He also alleged that Vivek was using the HCA for the sake of his Visakha firm.
Wondering at the statement of Vivek that all Telangana districts come under HCA purview, Guruva Reddy said Finance Minister Etela Rajender was chairman of the TCA and former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatraya was chief patron of the TCA. He said the TCA conducted 1,200 matches. Stating that TCA will utilize services of senior cricketers, Guruva Reddy said there was no need for the TCA to take HCA permission to get recognition of BCCI. He made it clear that the TCA will continue its fight against the irregularities taking place in the HCA.
