Kite flying on roads prohibited in city

Hyderabad,  In order to maintain law and order, peace and tranquility during Sankranthi festival, City Police Commissioner V. V. Srinivasa Rao, IPS, prohibited kite flying on all thoroughfares and in and around places of worship from 6 am on January 14 to 6 am onJanuary 16.

The CP appealed to the parents and citizens of Hyderabad City to advise their children not to fly kites from the terraces and not to run on the roads or vulnerable places while flying kites or trying to collect kites. Children should be made aware of their vulnerability like electrocution if they try to collect stay kites from electric poles, he said.

            The CP also said the revelers should not collect wood forcibly for bonfires. Any person violating the ban order will be prosecuted.

            This order shall be in force with effect from 0600 hrs on 14-01- 2018 upto 0600 hrs on January 16.
