Home Minister Amit Shah has said that Abrogation of Article 370 dealt a severe blow to terrorism and will clear roadblocks for development of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Home Minister was speaking after flagging off Vande Bharat Express between Delhi to Katra from New Delhi Railway Station today.
The Home Minister termed Vande Bharat Express as a big gift for Jammu and Kashmir’s development and promoting religious tourism.
On the occasion, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal said that Railways will connect the entire country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari before 15th August, 2022.
Booking of tickets for the train is now open on the IRCTC website and first commercial run will begin on Saturday. The high-speed train will bring down travel time between Delhi and Katra to eight hours from the current 12.
The Express will depart from New Delhi at 6 am and reach Katra at 2 pm. On the return journey the same day, it will leave from Katra at 3 pm to reach New Delhi at 11 pm.
Except Tuesdays, the Train will ply on all days of the week.
