BJP sore over CM’s anger on GST; Laxman seeks all-party meet to go to Delhi

Hyderabad,   BJP Telangana State president Dr K Laxman today deplored Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s comment on GST.

Speaking to the media at party office here, Laxman said State ministers Etela Rajender and K Tarakarama Rao were parties on GST decisions as both attended GST Council and other meetings on behalf of the State government. The decisions were taken only after consultations with all State governments, he reminded. GST Tax on cement, crushed stones and steel has been reduced to 10 per cent. There was possibility of further discussions in the GST Council if there was any additional burden on the States, he added.

The BJP leader suggested if necessary to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to convene an all-party meeting and go to Delhi for discussion in the GST Council. If the State was put on additional burden due to GST, the Chief Minister should disclose and make it public the figure of additional tax burden, Laxman said, adding that his party would try its best to bring to the notice of the Centre to protect interests of the State.
