Scribes Condemn ACPS’s Attack on Media persons

Hyderabad, The TUWJ-IJU and HUJ today condemned the attack of Punjagutta ACP Venkateshwarlu on the media people at Pragathi Bhavan when the latter tried to cover the health staff agitation.

ACP Venkateshwarlu and his subordinates pushed the scribes and used filthy language towards electronic media, which was trying to cover the health staff’s agitation and suicide attempt of one of the contract staff, in the morning. The health staff, demanding the State government to regularize their services, tried to lay a siege to the CM’s Camp Office. But the police personnel obstructed them and arrested them. The police also pushed the media persons away when they tried to cover the incident and used filthy language towards the media. In the police attack, 10tv reporter Radhika and cameraman Danunjay suffered injuries.

Condemning the incident, the TUWJ-IJU and HUJ lodged a complaint with Director General of Police Anurag Sharma at the latter’s office demanding a judicial inquiry into the incident and suspension of ACP Venkateshwarlu along with other police men. Responding to their demand, the DGP directed the City Police Commissioner to inquire into the incident.

The TUWJ-IJU and HUJ leaders—K Virahat Ali, A Rajesh, K Srikanth Reddy, Riyaz Ahmed, Shankar Goud, Balakrishna, I Srinivas Reddy, Shyam Sunder, Sudhakar Reddy, Mallesh, Giribabu, Dayakar Goud, Bhushan, Upendra, Naidu and others participated in the program.
