Night curfew till May 1 in Telangana against Corona cases rise

Hyderabad, April 20 (PMI):  Telangana government today issued orders imposing a night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am till May 1 to check rise in Corona cases.
Order to this effect are issued vide GOMS NO.87 on Tuesday. During the curfew period, all offices, shops, establishments, restaurant etc. shall close at 8pm.
However exemption was given to — print and electronic media, Pharma, medical shops, hospitals, emergency services, petrol bunks, LPG, CNG, cold storages, essential commodities and government agencies.
The state government said that all firms, shops, restaurants, Hotels, and businesses from 8 am itself. The orders at a time when high court asked for steps for lockdown or curfew to check the cases. The government intends to bring down the cases by checking virus spread through the curfew. The  night curfew will continue from April 20 till 5.00 AM, May 1 the orders said.
Similarly the exemption was given to IT and IT enabled services, power, water, telecommunications industry, state, central government offices and other essential commodities.
Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar issued the night curfew orders. It was decided by the government to impose the night curfew from April 20 to May 1.  The Chief Secretary instructed all district officials to strictly implement the orders.
He said that there is a surge in the Corona cases across the country and the state as well. The state has seen 5,926 fresh positive cases including 793 in GHMC and 8 deaths on Monday. The state has 42,853 active cases and 1,856 deaths.
The curfew orders are  to prevent virus spread and people moments. The government will take stock of  the situation and take necessary action. The government exempted  inter state and intra-state transportation, buses, autos, rails, and air services from the night curfew.
