Hyderabad: Former minister M Mukesh Goud’s son M Vikram Goud was shot at by unidentified persons in Gayatri Hills under Banjara Hills police limits in the peek hours of Friday. Vikram who was fired upon thrice survived the attack.
City Police Commissioner Mahendar Reddy said the assailants opened three rounds at Vikram at around 3.30 amand three cartridges pierced through his right shoulder and spinal cord. He was rushed to Apollo Hospital at Jubilee Hills, where surgeons removed three bullets from his body. His condition was stated to be out of danger.
The CP said he constituted ten teams to solve the case and identify the culprits. He said the victim’s wife Shifali heard gunshot sounds in the ground floor and rushed to the spot and found her husband in a pool of blood. Vikram returned home late night after 12.30 am after participating in a social function and woke up at 3am to perform puja when he was attacked. The CP said they were verifying CCTV footage to identify the attackers. A CLUES team visited the spot in Gayatri Hills near Hafeez Baba Nagar in Banjara Hills.
West Zone DCP A Venkateshwar Rao visited Apollo hospital and enquired about the incident with family members of Vikram Goud. Mukesh Goud was a minister in YSR government. His son too is in politics and unsuccessfully contested as corporator. However, neither the security at Vikram’s residence nor anyone in the vicinity saw any persons moving around or running from the house, police said, adding that several criminal cases are pending against both Mukesh and Vikram Goud.
