CP CV Anand, Hyderabad Collector Anudeep and other election officials held a meeting with the implementation of the Election Code from 12 noon on Monday. In 15 constituencies in Hyderabad, the number of voters, EVMs, election staff, problematic polling stations, appointment of security and vigilance departments, election code and regulations to be followed by the candidates were given many instructions. He said that 35,000 people will participate in the election duties along with the entire police, polling staff and additional support staff. He said that special attention has been given to problematic constituencies and controversial polling stations across the district. RTA, Income Tax, ED, Excise, GST, Customs, Narcotic, Police, He said that 18 integrated check posts have been set up with Baldia staff. A special mechanism has been made available to regularly monitor money circulation, digital payments, liquor sales and supply.

    3986 polling stations are set up

    Election Officer Ronald Ross explained the arrangements made in 15 constituencies following the election schedule. He said that 3986 polling stations will be set up in 1688 areas across Hyderabad district. He said that there are 3931 polling stations under Hyderabad Police Commissionerate, 51 polling stations in Cyberabad and 4 polling stations in Rachakonda.

    Election officials have arranged for special programs to increase voter turnout and sensitize voters. As part of this, there will be thematic polling stations in each constituency, and polling stations will be made available by appointing them as election staff for disabled, new voters, women and the elderly, the election officer said. 75 thematic polling stations will be set up across the district. As a part of this, people belonging to the respective communities will be appointed as staff of the polling stations and will monitor the voters. He said that only the list of polling stations was available, soon it will be made available along with the maps, and special arrangements have been made to monitor the parking areas and monitoring of queue lines.

    Single window clearance

    He said that the use of technology has increased with the directives of the Central Election Commission while simplifying the conduct of elections. He said services can be availed through voter linkage, Suvidha Kendras, along with the already released Sea Whistle app, voter help line app. Similarly, it is suggested to check the details in the electoral list online and through BLO. He said that this single window center will help political parties, candidates, rallies, loudspeakers, convoy permits etc. through this center set up at the GHMC headquarters.

    Vote at home for people over 80 years old

    The officials of the election department have paid special attention to achieve 100 percent voting by the senior citizens above 80 years of age. Election Commission of India has provided facility of postal ballot through Form 12 for those above 80 years of age to participate in voting, said the Election Officer.

    Model code of conduct

    • The election code of conduct came into force from 12 noon on Monday. On December 5, the election process will be completely over and the code will end.
    • 15 RO offices and control rooms are functioning at the DEO level for monitoring. PST, VST, MCC teams keep vigilance at field level.
    • All the flying squads together will operate 90 teams. Six teams have been appointed in each assembly constituency to look into all complaints against the model code. Violations, election expenses of political parties, candidates, threats complaints and anti-social activities will be monitored.
