1 CCTV IS EQUAL TO 100 POLICE OFFICERS: EDUCATION MINISTER SABITHA INDRA REDDY

Hyderabad Nov 10 (PMI): Education Minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy and Commissioner of Police Rachakonda Sri Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS today inaugurated Community CCTV Cameras at Gayatri Hills Community Hall, Badangpet.

Today Hon’ble Education Minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy, Rachakonda CP Mahesh Bhagwat IPS, inaugurated 100 Community CCTV Cameras installed in three (3) colony of Badangpet Muncipal corporation area (Gayatri Hills community hall, Badangpet In the limits of Ps Meerpet) with a cost of Rupees fourteen lakh fifty thousand only (Rs.14, 50,000-00) as a part of expanding community CCTV cameras network across Rachakonda commissionerate.

The Chief Guest Smt Sabitha Indra Reddy addressing the gathering on the inaugural ceremony said CCTVs cameras play a key role in catching the offenders red handedly and this speeds up the investigation process too. The CCTV cameras helps the police in identifying people participating in the crime, their style committing the offence, which makes investigation even more easier, and justice can be delivered fastly and also 1 CCTV is equal to 100 police officers. It was great initiative where the citizens with the help of police came forward and installed CCTV cameras for the security of all citizens. She also applauded the Mayor and Corporaters for taking initiation to install CCTV cameras under Badangpet municipality. She made a appeal to public to join hands for Safer Rachakonda and also appealed the local public representatives to ensure installation more cameras in remaining colonies of  Badangpet municipality and keep it  at the top position in the state. Minister Sabita Indra Reddy madam specially recognized good work of SHO Meerpet and team in rescue of citizens from flood in recent rains. Police are doing good work and that has to be put on record Madam said. Madam also ensured on installation of CCTV cameras in Maheshvaram Assembly segment with cooperation of citizens, Government and non-government organizations.

Speaking on the occasion, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police, Sri Mahesh Bhagwat IPS has said, CCTV cameras became an important aspect of modern day policing and almost 67% of the crimes are being detected. He urged the citizens and public representatives to come forward and install more number of cameras in their respective areas. He appealed the Mayor and other public representatives to make the Badangpet Municipality as the first one to have 100% CCTV network coverage area.  XP Rachakonda too recognized good work of Meerpet police in rescue & relief operation during recent rains.

These cameras were installed at strategic locations covering the entry and exits, main routes and crime prone areas of the localities. As on today there are 317 Community CC Cameras and 3106 Nenu Saitham Cameras have been installed under the limits of Meerpet Police Station. In the recent past, Snatching cases, a house burglary and robbery cases were detected through CCTV footages and recovered property
