Yogi celebrated victory, alliances failed to work for Akhilesh

Celebrating grand electoral victory, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath repeatedly hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over BJP’s fantastic performance in the state, saying the party is all set to create history under PM Modi’s leadership. Yogi said this is a mandate for development and a blessing from the people of the state for the safe environment created by the double engine government.

During his victory speech, Yogi said everyone had their eyes set on UP, given the political and electoral significance of the state but people of the state have blessed us again. The 7-phase elections conducted peacefully in the state, have set a great precedent for the entire country. However, he did say that amidst joy of the victory, we also need to stay focused and continue working for the welfare of the people with a greater sense of responsibility as we exhibited during the last five years.

Alliances again failed Akhilesh

Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav tried his level best forging political alliances with a string of small regional parties, but his efforts didn’t bring desired results. Yadav in his election rallies repeatedly boasted that he would send Yogi back to Gorakhpur after assembly elections. This time also, entering into alliances didn’t succeed for him. Earlier, in 2017 UP assembly elections, he partnered with the Congress and then joined hands with Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party in 2019 general election, which too bore no fruition for him and his party.
