Traffic Police conducted a meeting with Hospitals & Nursing Home Managements

Hyderabad ‘may 5 (PMI) North District Traffic Police conducted a meeting with Hospitals & Nursing Home Managements and Ambulance associations at Conference Hall, Old CP office, Basheerbagh on Fridat

In this meeting, Sri Rahul Hegde, IPS., DCP, Traffic–I presided and addressed the gathering. DCP Traffic-I explained Ambulance code in detail to attendees and mainly emphasized on rules & regulations related to use of sirens, proper registration of vehicles used as ambulances in line with MV Act, drunk and driving, use of black films etc. DCP Traffic–I requested management/owners of ambulances to use siren when there is emergency in shifting of patients who are in critical condition. DCP Traffic-I hinted that, vehicle will be seized, if driver found in inebriated condition and charge sheet will be filed against the driver and the owner, for abetting. Use of sirens for purpose other than carrying patients to the hospital will be dealt appropriately. DCP Traffic–I assured that the movement of ambulances will be facilitated in an uninterrupted manner if they inform to the Traffic Control Room (8712660600) and they can use our Help Line number for any clarifications (9010203626). The managements and associations were requested to manage the parking of vehicles in front of their hospitals without causing public inconvenience or obstructing the free flow of traffic and they should regularly brief their security personnel to maintain the parking without collecting parking charges. Management and Owners of ambulances were further requested to daily sensitize their drivers to avoid rash driving and to follow all traffic rules strictly, to avoid haphazard parking and conduct breath analyzer test for alcohol before getting on to Job. DCP traffic – I insisted that all ambulances should exhibit the proper register number plates.

The attendees were requested to submit Xerox copies of Registration Certificates, Drivers licence and details to the local Traffic Police for verification and appealed to appoint a nodal officer for proper coordination with Police. The managements and office bearers of Ambulance Associations assured cooperation and following of all traffic rules and regulations. Sri S. Ranga Rao, Addl.
