Suspend KTR on Himanshu case: Tammineni urges EC

Hyderabad,  Left parties led by CPM State Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram today urged the Election Commission to disqualify KT Rama Rao from his MLA post from Siricilla for violating set norms and misusing his office.

In a memorandum submitted to Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal, Veerabhadram alleged that KT Rama Rao misused the official machinery and issued a GO 23 Home (Budget) on July 7, 2014 and passed orders giving administrative sanction to DGP, Telangana State for Rs 312, 74,910000 to purchase 3883 vehicles from his Himanshu Motors Company.

The CPM leader told mediapersons at Secretariat that the act of giving such a huge amount to his own company is sheer violation of office and norms. Thus, KTR has no right to continue as legislator and EC was urged to suspend him from that post, he said. He also alleged that being one of the directors of the Himanshu Motor Company, KTR misled people by stating that he was not associating with it. He said as per previous documents submitted to EC during elections, KTR said to have shares in Himanshu Motor company.
