Revenue officials corrected records without conducting survey of lands: Kodanda

Hyderabad,  Congress Kisan Cell chairman M Kodanda Reddy today alleged that the State government failed to conduct survey for even a single gunta of land when the farmers lodged complaints with the Revenue department as part of Land Records Purification Program. The revenue officials were correcting the records without conducting any survey, he alleged.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, Kodanda Reddy asked the government what it will do regarding assigned lands, which were in the hands of bigwigs. The State government waived loans of farmers in four phases instead of one go though the Congress insisted in this regard, he said. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao assured in the Assembly that he would refund the interest on the loans of farmers but failed to stick to his word, he remarked.

When TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy raised the issue in the Assembly, the Chief Minister asked him to furnish the information in this regard, he reminded and demanded that the State government pay back the interest amount immediately. He said the government also failed to estimate the loss incurred due to natural calamities and not given compensation to the lost crop.
