Covid order violation: Bandi Sanjay sent  to 14 days judicial remand

Hyderabad, Jan.3 (PMI): State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar today sent on a 14 days of judicial remand by a court in Karimagar on the allegations of violating  Covid prevention orders  issued by the state government and obstructing the duties of police.   The court also remanded 5 others to the judicial custody along with Bandi Sanjay. The police alleged that the state BJP chief obstructed them from discharging their duties and invoked section 353 of IPC.

However, the counsel representing Bandi raised their objections against the invocation of the said section before the magistrate during arguments on his bail petition. The police registered two FIRs against Bandi and other BJP leaders. The police also mentioned about ten criminal cases filed against Bandi in their remand report and urged the court to not give bail to the accused Bandi Sanjay . After listening to the arguments of the two sides, the court dismissed the bail petition of Bandi and sent him to judicial remand on the basis of the second FIR filed against him. Bandi was taken to Karimagar district jail after the pronouncement of the orders of the court . The counsel for Bandi urged the court to provide food in the jail after it is tasted by the jailor of the jail. The court responded positively to the plea of the lawyers and asked the jailor to taste the food before serving to the sitting MP of Karimagar.

It may be noted here that The police busted his protest program and arrested him on Sunday night . He was later taken to Manakondur police station. Later the police shifted him to police training centre before being produced before the court. (PMI)
