Congress pushed country into corruption: PM Narendra Modi

PM Modi addressed a public meeting in favour of BJP candidates BB Patil (Zahriabad) and Raghunandan Rao (Medak).

Hyderabad, April 30 (Shoukat –  PMI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today accused the Congress party of pushing India into the trap of corruption.

Addressing a public meeting at Alladurgam in Zeheerabad district as part of BJP’s election campaign, he claimed that everyone had seen the level of corruption that took place during the Congress party’s rule and how much the country had developed in the last 10 years. “Congress always indulges in lies, vote bank politics and corruption. Where the Congress is in power, it governs with five principles. The Congress party was looking to bring back the old days in the country.

Today, there is a huge debate on double ‘R’ tax in Telangana. Traders and contractors are paying this tax in a haphazard manner. If the whole world is proud of RRR, the country is ashamed of double R tax. Delhi is being paid tribute with the RR tax being collected from industrialists,” he alleged. He asked as to how did BRS party indulged in corruption in the past? “Now the Congress party is doing the same thing. If the Congress government comes to power at the Centre by mistake, we will collect a new tax from our heritage.,” he said.

On Kaleswaram lift irrigation project, he termed it as the biggest scam. Now the Congress has come to power, it is trying to save the BRS party. These two parties are the same in corruption,” he alleged.
“The Congress has cheated the farmers by promising to waive off loans in 100 days in Telangana. The party’s promise of a bonus of Rs 500 per quintal for paddy has not been fulfilled. The Congress wants the poor to remain poor forever. There are a lot of restrictions to celebrate festivals in Hyderabad. A section is harassing others for their votes.

Commenting on the Ram Temple in Ayodhya , he said it was a 500-year-old dream of Indians. “Delhi did not have a strong government for the dream come true all these years. With the support of all of you and the vote you cast, the construction of a magnificent divine temple in Ayodhya has been made possible. With each vote you cast, we will make your dreams come true,” he said. Modi said he was in favour of SC classification. “Congress party won a record number of MPs in 2004-09 in joint AP. But we have seen with our own eyes how the party has written off the rights of SC, ST and OBCs. Congress has not given justice to the Lingayats and Marathas, who are in large numbers in Telangana. The 26 BC castes were not included in the Central list but overnight Muslims were included in the OBC list. I am in favor of SC classification,” he said.

He alleged that the Congress has a history of imposing emergency. He said there was no mention of religious reservation in the constitution. “We consider the Constitution to be a scripture. Congress has no respect for Constitution and Ambedkar. If the first Prime Minister Nehru mocked the Constitution, Indira Gandhi had stabbed it,” he alleged. Modi said BJP was the only party that supports the protection of the Constitution. (Pressmediaofindia.com)
