Congress criticism baseless: Talasani

Hyderabad, Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav today criticised the Congress for playing cheap politics. He demanded that the Congress leaders tender an apology to IT Minister KT Rama Rao for their atrocious comments on Drugs case and other issues.

Talking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan here, Talasani accused the Congress leadership of indulging in mud-slinging only for political gain and nothing else. He took potshots at Congress chief Utham Kumar Reddy, Jana Reddy and others for their remarks against KT Rama Rao and the State government on various issues. The minister rubbished aside the comments of the Congress leaders that some of the friends involved in the drugs case and the government was trying to dilute the case. He also rejected the comments that the film industry was being targeted and which may shift its base to other places.

Srinivas Yadav ridiculed the Congress leaders for their plan to conduct a padayatra at Siricilla for Dalit cause. The Congress, he said, was shedding crocodile tears on Dalits as they failed to take up such programs during their regime. The Congress was making a hue and cry unnecessarily in this regard, he fumed. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao introduced several schemes for Dalits, Tribals, Muslims and BCs, the minister pointed out.

The KCR government was giving equal priority to develop all villages and districts and there was no room for politics on development front, he said. The Congress should abstain from making such false accusations which will only tarnish the government image, he said. Srinivas Yadav warned that serious action will be taken against the Congress leaders if they failed to stop baseless criticism. It is shame on the part of the Congress to talk on family politics and rule, he charged. The government will not compromise on welfare and development, he asserted.
