Center has started oxygen production in three shifts: Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad, April 24 (PMI): Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G. Kishan Reddy today visited the covid-19 dedicated Gandhi hospital in Secunderabad. During the visit,  Reddy inspected the wards in which Covid positive patients are being treated. He also took stock of the facilities being provided and required in the interest of speedy recovery of the patients. Later  Kishan Reddy reviewed the availability of oxygen, vaccines and other essential drugs at the Gandhi hospital during his visit.

The superintendent, senior management and doctors joined the review meeting, aimed at ensuring coordinated and concerted efforts to tackle the pandemic efficiently. During the visit to Gandhi hospital, he also inspected the in-situ oxygen plant, which is supported by the Central government, that continuously generates oxygen from the surrounding air. All concerned officials joined me in inspecting this oxygen plant.

Kishan Reddy later visited, District Hospital, King Koti and inspected the facilities being extended to the Covid patients. He interacted with the medical fraternity and appreciated their efforts.  Reddy also reviewed on the Vaccination drive, oxygen and medicines availability status on the occasion.

Reddy today said that the central government had started round the clock production of oxygen in three shifts to overcome its shortage in the country. He said that they were also producing the oxygen through air. He also interacted  with the Covid 19 patients being treated at the hospital during his visit.

Speaking on the occasion he said that there was no need to do politics when people of the state were losing their lives. He alleged that CM KCR’s family was making baseless allegations against the central government on the issue of the shortage of the oxygen in the state. He also alleged that KCR’s family was doing politics on the dead bodies of the Covid 19 patients and added that there was no need to do such cheap politics on such an important issue. Referring to the statement of the ruling party leaders that the central government was showing discrimination towards the state, he said that it was  unfortunate that such Wes statement was made against the central government. He made it clear that the central government was not showing any kind of discrimination towards the state government and added that the oxygen was being supplied to the state on the basis of the Covid 19 patients and the number of deaths registered by the state every day.

He said that the state would  get more amount of oxygen and Remdesivir injections in the next two to three days. He said that they would establish two units of oxygen production plants at gandhi hospital and added that the plants would be brought into use from the next week. He said that they would also set up the oxygen production plants in Warangal and Karimnagar districts. Commenting on the fixation of the prices of the Covid 19 vaccine, he made it clear that the center would not fix the prices of the vaccines. He said that the state would get 360 metric tonnes of the oxygen from Karnataka and Odisha states. (PMI)
