Shift people to safe places as cyclone may hit: Lakshma Reddy

Hyderabad,  Health Minister, Dr C Lakshma Reddy today directed the officials concerned to plunge into action to shift people of low lying areas before they were hit by cyclone. He also asked to take up development works with Rs 14 cr in Badepally Municipality of Mahabunagar district.

During a review meeting on Cyclone and its effects, he asked that official teams should take immediate steps to cleanse up the Nalas, remove debris and take sanitation drive and check possible spread of contagious diseases. Lakshma Reddy said that the people of low lying areas should be alerted before anything happens due to cyclone. The officials should act urgently on the issue and shift them to safer places and provide them food, water and shelter, the minister said.

He said that Badepalli Municipality in Mahabubnagar district near Jadcharla will get a face-lift as the government is ready to release Rs 14 cr to take up 196 works. The officials were told to take up steps to implement action plan prepared for basic amenities such as drinking water, drainage, street lights, roads and others in the municipality. The officials should complete expeditiously the works already taken up, he added.
