PM Modi pitches India as attractive destination to do business

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday pitched India as an attractive destination to do business.
 
Mr Modi said this in his meeting with around 70 business delegates of Oman in capital Muscat, on the final day of his visit to West Asia and the Gulf.
 
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said in a tweet that during the meeting the Prime Minister also complemented the expanding strategic partnership between India and Oman.
 
AIR correspondent, covering the Prime Minister’s visit reports, after meeting the business delegates, Mr Modi held talks with Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Co-operation Affairs, Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tariq Al Said and Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood Al-Said.
 
Mr Modi discussed with the two leaders intensification of bilateral co-operation in areas of mutual interest.
 
The Prime Minister also visited the famous Shiva Temple of Muscat and the Grand Mosque.
 
The Shiva temple was constructed by the Merchant community from Gujarat settled in Muscat centuries ago.
 
The temple is originally 100 years old but it was renovated in 1999 for devotees to worship.
 
Mr Modi also went to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, which is the country’s main mosque.
 
The mosque took six years to build and was completed in 2001. It covers a massive area and can hold upto 20,000 worshippers.
 
Meanwhile, Prime Minister has left for home from Muscat after concluding his 4-day visit to West Asia and the Gulf.
