In support of farmers’ Demands CPI plans nationwide stir from today

Hyderabad, July.23 (PMI):  In support of the ongoing agitations in various States on the genuine demands of farmers and rural people, The Communist Party of India called upon its units throughout the country to launch a three-day Jail Bharo and other protests from July 24 to 26.

Speaking to media persons here today, The CPI national council secretary Atul Kumar Anjaan and State CPI secretary Chada Venkat   Reddy demanded that the State and Central governments implement immediately recommendation of Swami Nathan Commission and bring down growing agriculture input cost. They demanded that the GST on seed, fertilizers, pesticides, diesel, electricity, pump sets and generators must go and have zero tax during they are speaking with Media Persons.

The other demands include creation of Rs one lakh crore Price Stabilization Fund to check the declining prices of agri-produce; Loans taken from all nationalized and cooperative banks and other agencies be brought under loan waiver scheme; the farmers, agriculture workers and rural artisans completing 60 years of age be given Rs 10,000 per month pension by the Centre and State governments at the age of 60 years to all men and women; implementation of progressive land reforms and allotment of eight cents of land to rural homeless people and ensure land to patta holders on a war-footing and withdrawal of LAA 2014 immediately put forth by Modi government.
