Centre gives nod for Amberpet Flyover: Tummala

Hyderabad : The Centre has given permission for the much-awaited Amberpet flyover connecting Uppal national highway 202, R&B Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao has said.

The project costs about Rs 338 cr and related proposals have already been sent to the Centre, which gave its clearance, the minister said. He said the Centre gave its nod for the pending Amberpet flyover wherein there was heavy traffic flow and resulting in frequent jams and congestion. With the Centre giving permission, the problem of Traffic at the key area of Amberpet crossroads will be addressed, he hoped. The flyover will come up at 1.415 km area and will be built in four-way lane to ease traffic snarls, the minister said.

Tummala said efforts made by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, IT & Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao and himself fructified by getting this project. Admitting that the conditions in the city were not up to the mark, the minister said they sent proposals to the Centre to address the problems by a study on roads, potholes, congestion, traffic problem during rainy season, digging of roads for various cable laying works, metro rail works, drinking water, sewage lines, cables and cable-duct lines. He said that proposals are ready including Rs 229 cr for land acquisition, Rs 111.71 cr for flyover construction. The flyover works will begin at Selam Bible Church near Golnaka junction and end at Mukaram Hotel in Amberpet and needs 4.62 acres land for the purpose.
