Avoid social media to improve skills: Venkaiah tells youth

Hyderabad, June 29 (PMI): Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu today called upon the youth not to waste precious time in social media activities and focus on improving skills instead.

Speaking as the chief guest at convocation program in Mufakkam Jah Engineering College in Banjara Hills here along with Home Minister Mahamood Ali, OU Vice-Chancellor V Ramachandram and others, Venkaiah Naidu said the students should try to read books and increase skills and knowledge. He also suggested that the students avoid wasting time on the social media and focus on education and career development. He also said the people should talk in their mother tongue and not to forget motherland wherever they go. While mother tongue is like eyes, other languages are like goggles, Venkaiah Naidu opined.
“Dream big and work hard to achieve the goals. Swachch Bharath is the responsibility of all of us”, the Vice President said and appealed to the students to return from abroad to their homeland and serve the society with inventions that will be useful for the common man. “Sky is the limit for your ideas and thoughts while nature and culture are our future”, he said. Stating that all religions are being equally treated in India only, Venkaiah noted that higher education should be taught in such a way that will increase social responsibility among the students.
