Venkaiah says he will retire in 2020 after Modi re-elected PM

Vijayawada, BJP senior leader and NDA vice-presidential candidate M Venkaiah Naidu today said he will retire from politics in 2020 to do public service after Narendra Modi once again becoming Prime Minister of India in 2019 elections.

He was speaking at a felicitation function organized by AP Teachers Association at Tummalpalli. Combined service rules have been introduced to do justice to the teachers, Naidu said, adding that the teacher profession has more sanctity than any other profession.

Venkaiah Naidu said he did whatever possible for him to help the two Telugu speaking States. “But it was painful for me to leave my party which I respect it as my mother”, he said. With the introduction of GST in the country, a new era of economic unity has begun, he said.

Earlier in Vijayawada, in the “Meet and greet” program he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown to the world the power and strength of the country. “We have to face short-term difficulties to enjoy perennial benefits, he observed. Demonetization and GST are the great measures for long time benefits for the country, the Vice-presidential candidate said.
