Three-Day Garment Fair in City From Tomorrow

Hyderabad: Garments Manufacturer and Wholesalers Association (GMWA) is organizing a three-day Garment Fair for Garment Manufacturers, Dealers and Retailers at Classic Garden in Secunderabad on July 23, 24 and 25.

            Addressing the media here today, GMWA president  Pawan Bansal, Amit Bajaj and Atish Agarwal said the event will be inaugurated by  S Niranjan Reddy, Telangana Planning Board Vice-Chairman and  Somesh Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary.

            This is the consecutive 19th  Edition of the “Garments Fair Hyderabad” being organized by GMWA, Hyderabad. The last 18 Fairs were runaway success. From the year 2016, this association has started Summer Fair also and organizing it in the month of February every year. 2 summer fairs were organized in two successive years (i.e. 2016 & 2017).

            The 19th Garment Fair Hyderabad will witness a much wider participation in terms of Visitors and Exhibitors, who are not only from Telangana & A.P., but also from Mumbai, Indore, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Ludhiana. The huge business potential this fair offer is primarily responsible to attract major national brands to participate in the fair. The strategic dates of the fair are also a contributing factor.

            “We congratulate the Government of India on implementation of GST from July 1. This historical decision is welcomed by one and all from the Textile & readymade Industries. One can look forward to a variety of product lines covering ranges in cotton and blends, woven & knits, treatments & finishes, prints and patterns, lines & stripes, embroideries & appliqués. Visitors can expect premium men’s wear, ladies wear and kids wear as well as hosiery with finishes that stand apart. The panorama of exhibitors and buyers include the regulars and the first timers. The participants and visitors who religiously visit the fair are acquainted with each other’s requirements and expectations, while the new comers –both Buyers and participants look to make new contacts. Last year approx Rs.40 crores of business has been generated with 3000 delegates attending the fair.

            The GMWA established in 1998 with a current Member strength of 208, is the state level apex body of Garment Industry and Trade. It has affiliation with FTAPCCI & CMAI. The association is committed to the cause of development of the Apparel trade and Industry. It not only takes steps for promoting but also for supporting or opposing legislation affecting the interest of Garment Industry and Trade. The unique feature of this association is the operation of a Recovery Committee which takes care of financial disputes and bad debts of the Garment Trade.
