Hyderabad, 12 Oct 2023 (PMI): With the polling date for assembly elections in Telangana coming up, the ‘electoral battle’ among the political parties has begun. The major political parties are giving final touches to their list of candidates. The Congress party is working towards returning to power in Telangana. The selection of the party candidates is being discussed by the party high command. Efforts were being made to field those who have the ability to win. The screening committee is working on the list of candidates.
The Central Election Committee of the Congress party is scheduled to meet at 4 pm on Friday. However, the list of the candidates is likely to be announced only after the completion of the proposed State-wide bus Yatra of the party leaders. There are likely to be some more additions of the Opposition party leaders after October 14. There seems to be last-minute additions as well. The list of the candidates is likely to be announced simultaneously.
Several Congress leaders will be attending the Central election committee meeting in Delhi. TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy, CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka and Telangana Congress in-charge Thackre will attend the meeting. (PMI)
