State BJP leaders urge Piyush to hike wages of Singareni contract workers

New Delhi, BJP Telangana state party today urged union minister of state for energy and power Piyush Goyal to implement of high power committee recommendations hiking wages of contract wage employees working in Sangareni Collieries Company in the state.

A memorandum was submitted by a party delegation led by state party president Dr K Laxman along with representation received from contract employees of SCCL. It said that about 25,000 contract employees have been working in various mines in the Singareni Collaieries spread in six districts of Telangana.

           The other demands of the contract wage employees include bonus on par with the permanent employees, extension of medical facilities to all the family members at all company hospitals and referral hospitals, payment of wages on public and government holidays and also extending leave facility and payment of double wages for work exceeding 48 hours a week and 26 days in a month.

Laxman requested the union minister to consider the demands of contract employees’ of SCCL and take a suitable decision.
