SP, BSP announce Lok Sabha poll alliance in UP; each to contest 38 seats

In Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party have entered a alliance for Lok Sabah Poll 2019.

SP and BSP will fight coming lok Sabha election jointly on seat sharing of 38 each in Uttar Pradesh. Two seats are left for other parties. Alliance will not field it’s candidate on Amethi and Raebareli seats.

Addressing a joint press conference with Akhilesh Yadav at Lucknow today Mayawati said this alliance is for the sake of country and interests of people. She attacked BJP and termed it as communal, anti poor and dalits. She said this tie up will pave a new moment and people have faith and hopes from alliance.

She said that Congress is not part of alliance as it is not benifial in seat winning contrarly it creates loss. She said that she is keeping away Lucknow’s Guest House incident away in interest of People and country. She said this alliance will continue for a long in future.

SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav said this alliance is not only political but it will end atrocities by BJP. He alleged Union and state governments are doing the politics of cast and religion. There is rule of anarchy, he added. Akhilesh appealed workers to maintain brotherhood and work with patience. He said the respect and disrespect of Mayawati is disrespect and disrespect.

It was for the first time that Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and BSP supremo Mayawati sit together to address a press conference.

This is exactly after 26 years that both the arch rival parties have come together to contest the elections against the Bhartiya Janata Party. Earlier, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Kanshi Ram had joined hands to contest the elections and registered a massive victory in 1993.

Political Pandits say this alliance may create tough journey for Bhartiya Janta Party in coming Lok Sabha election.

Instead of taking Congress in alliance, two Lok Sabha seats Amethi and Raebareli have been for walkover to the party.

Replying to a question Akhilesh Yadav said that next Prime Minister will be from Uttar Pradesh.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has termed this alliance to safeguard SP -BSP existence
