Background of the Protests
The sit-ins, which began on Thursday, continued into Friday, blocking major roads and creating chaos for commuters during the morning rush hour.
The demonstrations are in response to a tragic incident last month in Kurram Agency, where dozens of people were killed in an attack on passenger vehicles. Armed men fired upon two buses one travelling from Peshawar to Parachinar and the other from Parachinar to Peshawar resulting in multiple fatalities.
The unrest in Parachinar has resulted in the deaths of over 130 individuals, with reports indicating that more than 100 children have died due to a shortage of medicines in the area.
However, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has denied the reports of child fatalities, calling them unfounded.
It is pertinanat to be noted here that the Shia target killing is not only continued country-wide but also some new waves of Shia killing have rising & falling during last four decades but neither the America nor Britain but the Canada, Belgium, Italy, France, African, Asian, Central Asian, Gulf region especially Australia, New Zealand, United Nations, Amnesty International, European Union even none of one among hundreds of human rights organizations or activists spoke or condemned the Shia Target Killing in Pakistan even know or has any interest in this regard, experts, impartial intellectuals, victims, aggrieved persons and media persons claimed.
Reports from Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, Islamabad, Sukkar, Nawabshah, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Hayatabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu Kashmir and dozens of other cities & towns are same but neither the entire administration, authorities, government officials even whole world is also sleeping.
