Schools, colleges close from April 27 to May 31 as Corona cases rise:  Sabitha

Hyderabad, April 25 (PMI): Schools and Junior colleges in Telangana state will be closed from April 27 to May 31. The Government announced holidays during summer due to Corona cases rise in second wave.   These schools and junior colleges will remain shut from April 27 to May 31, according to information.

In a review meeting with chief secretary Somesh Kumar, education and health officials the Chief Minister K Chandra sekhar Rao has discussed on Corona cases rise and instructed for holidays. KCR has directed the officials concerned to see that the students get holidays till May end and follow Corona protocols.

Education Minister Sabitha Indra Ready has announced the holidays for the schools and colleges after KCR decision. April 26 is the last working day of 2021-22 academic year, she said. As per chief minister instructions the school and colleges to be shut from April 27 to May 31.

The Government will take a decision on reopening of the same on June 1 or before. Depending on corona cases the government will announce its decision she said. The officials concerned instructed the district officials to take steps for the Summer holidays amid Corona cases rise.

As the cases rise the Government has already passed 10th class students and those from 1st class to 9th class for Corona crisis.

Sabitha Indra Reddy informed that 5,21392 students of the 10th classes were passed.  Also 53.79 lakhs students from 1st to 9th classes were promoted to higher classes due to Corona cases she said
