Rs 2 lakh to kin of deceased journalists: Allam Narayana

Hyderabad, April 26 (PMI): In the wake of Corona cases rise in second wave, Telangana press academy has decided to offer Rs 2 lakhs financial assistance to kin of deceased journalists in the state.

This was informed by press academy chief Allam Narayana. In 10 days of Corona cases rise 15 journalists died of its effects, he said.  Since several representations made from journalists associations and unions to help Journalists kin he said.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is kind enough to provide immediate financial assistance to such ailing and deceased journalists he said.  Those who have died of Corona effects would get Government help.  So far we offered similar assistance to 200 families of the Journalists, Narayana said.  This is continuing as the Journalists are frontline warriors to write and inform people on Corona cases he said.

He appealed to the government to provide immediate and special treatment to the Journalists in all hospitals.  Narayana asked the kin of the Journalists to submit details through District medical, DPRO officials to avail this financial assistance. Details of death, Corona positive, media accreditation, medical and any others to be submitted by May 10 he said.

They must be sent to his office at information department, FDC building, Masab Tank, Hyderabad. The Government will offer timely help and the scribes have to wear masks while on job he said(Press media of india)
