Rs 1.70 lakh cr budget likely for 2018-19

Hyderabad,  Telangana Government is likely to propose a staggering Rs 1.70 lakh crore for 2018-19 financial year which is about Rs 20000 cr more than what the last fiscal of 2017-18 with Rs 1.30 lakh crore. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who is aiming big to complete the major and minor irrigation projects and welfare being the major issue, is said to have asked the officials prepare a budget that will cater to the needs of all sections. Since 2019 being the election year, the state government is to present its last full budget in the Assembly beginning March 12 at 10 am. KCR is understood to have given his nod for this budget and Finance Minister has asked the officials to give final touches to the same.

The budget to be presented in the Assembly on March 14 or a day after will focus on irrigation, welfare and development. The Governor ESL Narasimhan who summoned the Council and Assembly on March 12 at 10 am will deliver a speech in the joint session. The BAC will meet to decide on the business of the house which is to continue till the month end for about 15 working days or so. The budget will be more this time the sources said despite the Centre denied funds for flagship programs, development and projects.
