Revanth Reddy slams KCR family

Hyderabad, Nov.19 (PMI): TPCC president Revanth Reddy today said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had gone ahead with a dominant attitude after the formation of Telangana and added that the people had not got the freedom, equality, and equal development they wanted for the last 10 years under KCR’s rule.

Addressing media persons here on Sunday, the TPCC chief said, “Telangana’s journey has to be seen in three parts. The Nizam’s autocratic rule, the destruction that took place after the formation of Telangana, the land was the source of all the struggles that took place in Telangana. If you look at the history of Telangana, it has endured hunger, but not mortgaged self-respect. That is why there was an armed peasant struggle against the autocratic rule of the Nizam”.

He said the Congress manifesto had been prepared to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Telangana and added that they had placed their policy document before the people as a measure of the verdict to be given by the people. He said in the final phase, the media should be at the forefront of the Telangana movement. He said the movement was for governance and not for power. He said for the self-respect of Telangana, people were going to give a clear verdict in the upcoming assembly elections. He said they would bring back Praja Darbar program held by the Congress government in the past, after
coming to power in the State.

Revanth Reddy said their priorities would be based on the income of the States. Stating that KCR was talking about Rs 2,000 pension, he said in Karnataka, more money was being transferred to women along with pension than the pension given by KCR in Telangana. He said KCR owed Rs 1.80 lakh crore to the poor in the last 60 months.

Targeting the BJP, he mocked that it was an insult to the OBCs that the BJP, which did not have deposits in 110 assembly seats, was promising to make a BC community as CM. He said the weaker sections were keen to defeat CM KCR and added that the BJP’s strategy was to divide the BC votes and help KCR. “Earlier, Venkaiah Naidu had held a meeting on the classification of ABCD and said it would be done within 100 days. There is still no progress in the issue so far even after so many years. The Congress party is saying that it will support the  SC categorization bill but the BJP is not taking steps in that direction,” ’he said.

“I appeal to Manda Krishna. Let’s go to Delhi. Let me tell PM Modi that we will support the ordinance on the SC categorization. If the Central government wants, they can issue an ordinance within 48 hours. We will support Manda Krishna if he declares his plan of action without believing false promises, he said.
Revanth said when the Congress party comes to power, they would provide 24-hour free electricity. He alleged that a large-scale land grab was done in the name of the Dharani portal and added that one lakh acres of lands of the Nizam’s descendants around Hyderabad changed hands while noting that it is because of this reason KCR was worried about getting exposed after the abolition of the dharani portal.
