RAPIST CONVICTED FOR THREE YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT & FINE

Hyderabad, Feb.11 : On Tuesday, one Neeruti Raju, 24, of Balanagar was convicted and sentenced to undergo three years rigorous imprisonment and also to pay fine of Rs 2,000.

According to prosecution, the victim, a minor girl, was in love with the accused Neeruti Raju since two years. Coming to know their love affair, the victim’s parents decided to perform her marriage. When the girl informed the accused about their parents decision, the accused took away the minor girl for two days. On a complaint, the accused was arrested and sent to judicial custody.

The Balanagar police filed a charge-sheet in the MSJ Court at LB Nagar. After trial, Judge  K. Raghunath Reddy held Neeruti Raju guilty of the charge under Sections 366-A IPC, Sec 7 read with 8 of POCSO Act and sentenced him to three years RI and to pay fine of Rs 2,000.

The case was investigated under the supervision of PV Padmaja, DCP, Balanagar and Court Monitoring Cell of Women & Children Safety Wing, Cyberabad Commissionerate.
