Ragging, Drug Abuse & Road safety Awareness session Along with Harithaharam, by Rachakonda Police in engineering colleges*

Hyderabad: Jul 20 (PMI): An awareness session on Drug abuse, Ragging, She teams & Road safety in association with Haritha haram was conducted in Gurunanak College and Sri Indu college of Ibrahimpatnam, Rachakonda. Sri T. Krishna Prasad IPS, DGP, Railways & Road Safety, Telangana has participated in the session as a Chief Guest. Sri Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS, Commissioner of Police   Rachakonda and Sri  M Raghunanandan Rao IAS, Collector, Rangareddy District   have participated the session as special guests. Smt Devika, Drug abuse activist, Amritha foundation has taken a session on drug abuse. DGP Railways & Road Safety enlightened the students regarding road safety and the importance of following the traffic rules and regulations. Sri Mahesh Bhagwat Commissioner of Police Rachakonda informed on conducting Drug abuse prevention program *Naya Savera* a Project on Drug Abuse Prevention among adolescents and youth in collaboration with Rachakonda commissionerate, Amrita foundation and Narcotics Control Bureau. CP has appealed students to say no to drugs. One victim and survivor of Drug abuse have shared about his life during drug abuse and now in recovery. Dr. Devika from Amrita foundation have urged the students and college authorities to take collective responsibility to start Drug free youth clubs in the campus and work in liaison with police dept to make our college and community drug free.

All the guests have planted saplings in the premises of the both colleges and good number of students have participated the programme. Sri M Venkateswararao  DCP, LBNagar; Sri S Mallareddy ACP Ibrahimpatnam, Ms Snehita ACP Choutuppal  & She teams Rachakonda have participated the session. Under Harithaharam Rachakonda commissionerate has planted 165000 trees as on 19th July evening.
