Protect libraries for posterity: Srihari

Hyderabad,   Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari today emphasized the need for protecting the libraries across the state to disseminate information among the readers and people. Inaugurating Library Day celebrations in Ravindra Bharati here Srihari said that the government will offer them salaries under 010 head.  Already a related file was sent to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and on his approval the library staff will get the salaries under that head Srihari promised. Srihari recalled that the libraries have a played key role during freedom movement and Telangana statehood movement as well.

He extended greetings to the gathering on the occasion of library day that was conducted in commemoration of SR Rangarajan 125th birth anniversary. The government will provide needed funds and extend all support to modernize the libraries he said. Though the advent of technology has reduced the use and priority of the books there is no replacement for them he opined. We have to protect the libraries for future generations and encourage the youth and students to spend time in the libraries to get information from time to time the deputy chief minister said.
