Police Malkajgri Zone Apprehended 3 Persons Gang Indulging in Banned Old Currency and seized Cash Rs 74, 71, 000, 00 Two Bikes Four Mobile Phones

Hyderabad, Jan 10 (PMI): On credible information the sleuths of SOT Malkajgiri Zone, Rachakonda Commissionerate apprehended three persons for indulging in exchanging banned old currency notes in the limits Uppal Police Station. The Police seized cash Rs. 74, 71,000/- banned notes (1000X5231 = 52, 31,000 & 500X 4480=22, 40,000 Total=74, 71,000/-), (2) Bikes and (4) mobile phones from their possession.

A case is registered against the accused persons as Cr .No.  40 /2018 120(B), 420 R/w 511 IPC, and Sec.7 of Specified Bank Notes (Cessation of liabilities) Act 2017 namely (1) Mohammed Hafeez S/o Habeeb age: 34 years, Occ: Bangles Maker at Murgi Chowk, Hussaini Alam Hyd. R/o H.No. 21-3-849, Murgi Chowk, Hussaini Alam, Hyderabad. N/o Navalghad, Rajasthan state. Ph 9346719221.  (2)  Md. Adil S/o Yousuf, age: 44 years, Occ: Real Estate Business, R/o Jahangeer Nagar, Bhavani Nagar, Talabkatta, Hyderabad. Ph 9603334505 / 73865452266. (3) Md. Manzur Ahmed @ Manzur S/o Arieef age: 15 years, Occ: Student, R/o H.No. 21-3-849, Murgi Chowk, Hussaini Alam, Hyderabad. Babhu Bhai R/o Ghazi Bazar, near High Court, Hyderabad. (Absconding)

Brief facts:  The main accused Mohammed Hafeez is a native of Navalghad, Rajashtan state and presently residing at Murgi Chowk, Husain Alam, Hyderabad. He is into bangles manufacturing business at Murgi Chowk, Hyderabad. He is connived with some of his friends at Rajasthan and Hyderabad who are regularly indulging in exchanging of old currency banned notes with a margin of 20 % per lakh. He along with his friends have brought the banned currency notes of thousand and five hundred denomination notes total amount of Rs. 74,71,000/- from Rajasthan and through his friends Adil,Babhu Bhai, Manzur contacting the businessmen/brokers for exchanging the banned currency notes at Hyderabad. Today i.e. on 10-01-2018 early hours the main accused Hafeez along with Adil and Manzur brought the banned currency notes of Rs. 74,71,000/- in a plastic cover on two motorcycles and were waiting for the mediators at Prashanth Nagar, Uppal and in the meantime on suspicion the sleuths of SOT Malkajgiri Zone, Rachakonda along with Uppal police conducted a decoy operation as mediators and apprehended three accused persons and seized Rs. 74,71,000/- banned Indian currency, (2) Bikes and (4) mobile phones from their possession.  Later the accused persons were handed over to Uppal Police Station for further necessary action.

The above raids were made under the direct supervision of Sri Uma Maheshwara Sharma, DCP, Malkajgiri Zone, with guidance of Sri Syed Rafeeq, Addl. DCP SOT, by G.Naveen Kumar, Inspector, P.Venkateshwarlu, Inspector Uppal, SI Satyanarayana and staff of SOT Malkajgiri Zone, Rachakonda Commissionerate. (Press Media of India)
