Not Targeting Cine Folk for Fun; Cm Wants Drug Menace Banished: Chandravadan

Hyderabad, July.22: Stating that it was not correct to say that the Excise Department has targeted only cinema industry, Excise Commissioner Chandravadan expressed grave concern over the drug impact on the society and even the school children.

Speaking to the media here on Saturday, Chandravadan said the drug case was very sensitive as its impact has spread even to the school-going children endangering the whole society. Excise department director Akun Sabarwal was conducting interrogation of drug suppliers and addicts carefully in order to protect future generations from the evil.

Making it clear that they received strict instructions from the Chief Minister with regard to drugs case, Chandravadan said they were moving ahead carefully and the film personalities were cooperating with the interrogators. He asked the media to extend cooperation with them and not to demoralize the Excise department. On Saturday, cine actor Tarun and owners of various pubs appeared before the interrogators.
