No ration card deleted, Sabharwal nails newsreports

Hyderabad, March 6 (PMI): Civil Supplies Commissioner Akun Sabharwal today said no ration cards are deleted. “There is no truth in the news circulated on Deletion of Ration Cards of the farmers, who own 10 acres or more and are Rythu Bandhu Scheme beneficiaries. The Civil Supplies Department has not issued any orders on the matter”, he added.

Sabharwal further said the government did not contemplate to delete ration cards. “Every eligible ration card beneficiary will get ration commodities. No eligible ration cards were removed”, he asserted. He clarified that his department issued 3.50 lakh ration cards to eligible applicants in recent times. The Commissioner said the farmers need not panic on seeing false news of ration cards deletion. (PMI)
