Nerella incident unfortunate: KTR

Hyderabad,  Textiles & Industries Minister K T Rama Rao today said Nerella fatal accident that led to setting ablaze of a few sand Lorries in Siricilla district was unfortunate and it should not have taken place.

Along with MLA Ramesh Babu, the minister visited a hospital and consoled the victims of the incident and sought to know about the details of the incident. Speaking to the media later, KTR said the victims will get better health services. The victims, he said, complained that policemen harassed them in police station after setting fire to the Lorries. He said the DIG investigating into the case would bring out the facts.

The State government was very serious about the incident and would take immediate action against those involved in it, he said. The minister also promised that the government will not spare anyone in this regard. “We are awaiting DIG report and based on it, the government would take action”, he said and slammed the Opposition parties for crying foul on the incident.

“The Opposition parties are making a hue and cry for political gain and conspiring against him in the district to distance him from the people. With the people’s blessings I rose to become a minister and I will put in every effort to protect their interests. The congress leaders are just tourists and I am local to address their needs”, KTR asserted. The TRS got revenue of Rs 1,000 crore from sand mining and the Congress which started sand business pocketed the money, he said. In spite of their charges that will be considered as blessings and the government will take steps to prevent recurrence of such accidents. Sand mining works going on for filling up Mid Manair project for a target of 10 tmc waters, the minister said.
