Hyderabad’ 22 Nov 2024(PMI) Again the demolition of Hydra is speeding up..! Officials say yes. Focusing on the complaints coming to their office about encroachment of government places, Hydra will continue to carry out demolitions based on the reports of the relevant departments in those areas. According to the complaints received from the colonies that roads and parks have been occupied in many areas within the ORR, Hydra teams visited different places along with the local authorities and learned the details.
In this order, Hydra has demolished several places in Sangareddy district as well as in ORR. It is reported that they are preparing for demolition in some other areas in the next two or three days. It is in this background that Hydra team along with Revenue, Irrigation and Legal teams are thoroughly examining the complaints received at their office. They are preparing to take action with their teams, seeing where the work is done easily and where they are free from legal difficulties.
It is known that more than a hundred complaints have been received at the Hydra office during this month. Mainly, these complaints came from the colonies and locals about encroachment of canals, parks and roads in many colonies. However, as the land owners approached the court against the hydra demolitions in Patelguda under Aminpur municipality, the court ordered a survey and imposed a status quo till further action. Hydra Commissioner Ranganath reviewed the complaints received in his office in the context of court disputes with the legal team. The legal implications of removing the encroachments in the complaints were discussed.
Field investigation of complaints
A Hydra official said that until last month, the Hydra office received mostly complaints about the problems caused due to rains, but since this month, complaints regarding the encroachment of parks, canals and roads have been received. The Hydra Commissioner has asked for a preliminary report from the concerned departments. It is known that action will be taken against the encroachment of government places after receiving a report from the local revenue authorities.

Along with GHMC, 27 municipalities and 33 gram panchayats within ORR come under the purview of HYDRA. Most of the complaints received by HYDRA are in Sangareddy, Rangareddy and Hyderabad districts. The HYDRA team visited the field and collected details about encroachment of parks and roads under the jurisdiction of GHMC. Hydra officials said that notices were also given to the encroachers, as the explanation from them was not satisfactory and the notices were issued for the second time.
So far more than a hundred complaints received at the office have been thoroughly examined and notices have been given to 40 people who are claiming to be encroachers. HYDRA is preparing to act on their explanation after the deadline given to them. However, as there are complaints about the lands related to court disputes in many places, they will proceed according to the advice of the legal team. HYDRA is ready to remove what is found to be encroachment following revenue and municipal records.(PMI)
