Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy IPS takes charge as Hyderabad police commissioner

Srinivas Reddy said that drug peddling gangs would not be spared and those encouraging them would also be strictly punished

Hyderabad’13 Dec (Najaf Ali Shoukat-  PMI) Senior IPS officer, Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy on Wednesday assumed charge as the Commissioner of Hyderabad Police.

Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Kothakota Srinivas Reddy has said that there is no scope for drug peddling gangs in Telangana. In case of any drugs links in the Telugu film industry would not be tolerated, he said and added that a meeting would be convened shortly with the film industry representatives.

Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday assumed the charge as Hyderabad Commissioner of Police. Speaking to media, he said that drug peddling gangs would not be spared and those encouraging them would also be strictly punished. “I thank Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for trusting me and provided the responsibility as Hyderabad Commissioner of Police,” he said.


Srinivas Reddy said that performing duties in Hyderabad commissionerate would be a tough task. The Chief Minister asked to eradicate the drugs from the grass roots level. He cautioned the pubs, restaurants and farm house owners to be more vigil and not to allow drugs on their premises. “We will ensure friendly policing with those who respect the law and order and deal strictly with those who violate the law. I will coordinate with officials of Cyberabad and Rachakonda and to work hard to provide better services to the people and transform Hyderabad, a drug-free city,” Srinivas Reddy said.(Press media of india)
